Finalists of the Golden Service Awards announced!
The race for the Golden Service Awards is in full swing and how exciting is this! The Golden Service Awards competition has been known in the Netherlands since 2002. Cleaners are nominated by colleagues and/or clients who are close to the cleaners and an independent jury judges the entries. A winner in three different categories will eventually emerge from the entries.

- Manager of the Year
- Cleaning team of the year
The jury of the Golden Service Awards announced the fifteen selected finalists today. Five finalists per category. They will all be put in the spotlight during the finals on November 28th, but that day they will eventually compete per category for the title! We can congratulate no less than four finalists from our own ranks: Rosil (Lolo) De Barros Mendes Texeira (Cleaner of the Year), Wendy Mols (Manager of the Year) and team Van der Valk hotel in Arnhem and team NS Regio Zuid West (Cleaner Team of the Year).
This year we nominated three cleaners, three managers and three cleaning teams, just like many other organizations. The jury has the difficult task of testing all the entries on the basis of the criteria they have drawn up. The jury indicated that it was a difficult but careful decision to make a selection from the many good entries. From the many heart-warming entries, only 15 nominees were selected as finalists. We are very proud that four of our nine nominees have made it to the finals. Let's briefly present them again.
Rosil (Lolo) The Barros Mendes Texeira
This is our finalist in the category Cleaner of the Year. Rosil is 39 years old and comes from Rotterdam. He works at the Hilton Garden Leiden Inn Hotel and is very passionate about the cleaning business.
Rayon manager Marcel: "He immediately sees what needs to be done and takes care of things independently. He is friendly, positive and always looks good. This combined with his flexibility makes Rosil a very nice colleague to work with."
He is enormously involved with all the other employees in the team and is available to everyone. Nothing is too much for him. He really embodies hospitality.
Wendy Mols
Our finalist in the cleaning manager category. Wendy is 38 years old, comes from Selfkant, Germany and has been a manager at EW Facility Services since 2015. She is helpful, structured, very good at working together and has a listening ear for everyone. She has a great deal of knowledge, both of cleaning and management.
Rayon Manager Daniëlle says: "Wendy is flexible and always stays calm. You won't see her stress easily. No matter how busy it is, no matter what needs to be done, she stays calm and says: 'I'll take care of it."
Then we have our two finalists of the cleaning teams category.
Van der Valk hotel Arnhem
We would like to introduce team Van der Valk hotel Arnhem to you! The team has 26 employees and guarantees enormous satisfaction for both the guests and the client. The quality they deliver is excellent.
Rayon manager Els Bakker: "As Rayon manager this is a perfect location, I hardly need to work on it."
Our good results at this location and the exceptionally good relationship with the client ensure that we have also been able to work at other Van der Valk hotels in recent years. We owe that to Camelia and her team.
NS Region South West
The team of the NS Region Zuid West has 20 employees at 12 different locations. They are located in NS Breda, Delft, The Hague, Dordrecht, Gouda, Leiden, Roosendaal, Rotterdam, Schiedam and Vlissingen. The work for them is not the same as at a 'standard' location. Despite this level of difficulty and distance, the team forms a beautiful group. You have to be able to rely on each other and the cooperation, which is absolutely the case with this team.
Judith van Otten, Rayon Manager of this team: "They may not see each other very often, but they are always in contact with each other. Communication takes place, for example, via WhatsApp and/or calling."
Jury visits
In the coming month, the judges will visit all the nominees. On November 28th, the three prizes will be awarded. So it's still a bit exciting!
Our other top nominees
Unfortunately we had to disappoint the other 5 nominees of EW Facility Services, but even though they are not selected as finalists, they have shown that they are very good at their job and really know how to distinguish themselves: Natascha Schuijers, Diana Holman, Ela Nowak, Kim Groenestein and Team Holland Casino Amsterdam. You can be proud of yourselves, because so are we!
