EW Facility Services first to start the SVS in-company Line Managers’ Basic Training
EW Facility Services and SVS Training have intensified their existing partnership. The updated Line Managers’ Basic Training and Absence Through Illness Module form a part of a new partnership agreement for the coming years.
Line managers perform a key central role in the cleaning process, because the line manager has daily contact with cleaners, customers and users of properties. To be able to perform this function and role effectively it is essential that the line manager has good communication skills, so the Line Managers’ Basic Training focuses on the further development of social skills, and teaches the manager to communicate openly. Another important aspect of the training programme is that the managers develop additional skills so they can guide employees in a coaching role, as opposed to a more directive management style.
EW Facility Services and SVS have developed a unique approach to providing this training; the presentation of the Absence Through Illness Module in particular has been updated. The ‘hard side’ of the training is provided by an internal trainer from EW Facility Services, who is also an absence support manager. This ‘hard side’ covers legislation and regulations, as well as the facility services provider’s absence policy. An SVS trainer takes care of the ‘soft side’, such as conducting interviews. This combination has resulted in an extremely successful working method.
EW Facility Services is the first company to start providing this new training programme in-house in partnership with SVS. All the training materials have been developed in the EW Facility Services house style, they meet SVS’s rigorous quality standards, and of course they fulfil the RAS final attainment level and test criteria.
