Management team joins in with the workforce
Staying in touch with the workplace and listening to and learning from employees’ practical experiences. For 14 years the management team of EW Facility Services has joined in with the cleaning team in the workplace for a day. This year too, on 3 February, they rolled up their sleeves at various locations, and their extra hands were put to good use.
Joining in with the work in practice is no proverbial ‘walk in the park’. The colleagues in the workplace don’t take it easy on the top managers, and that’s not what they want either. Bas Cornelissen, Managing Director, says: “On a day like this we experience what’s going on in the workplace and we get the opportunity to test our vision with colleagues and the client. But above all it shows what great work our colleagues deliver every day. And it was no different at the Van der Valk Hotel Nijmegen-Lent. I experienced the team’s enormous commitment, a great atmosphere, excellent teamwork and top quality.” Bas Haagen, Marketing and Sales Director, got down to work at the Thialf ice arena in Heerenveen. A different location, but the same experience: “It’s fantastic to see where genuine involvement and real customer contact can lead.” Leon Koekkoek-de Jong, Operational Director, clocked up quite a few kilometres at Hilton The Hague Hotel: “Together with Lima, Lionel and the rest of the team I took care of the whole of Hilton The Hague. The collaboration in this team is top-class, and it was great to be part of it for a day.” Maaike Ligtenstein-van Bree, HR Director, went to work at the Blooming Hotel in Bergen: “This day always gives me bags of energy. The enthusiasm of our colleagues is infectious. Getting down to work together, but also learning about the stories behind the people gives added value every year.”
For Albert van Schooneveld, Key Account Director, this year was his baptism of fire: “On the day I experienced at first hand that the quality of our services is key. I look back on an enjoyable and educational day at EY Amsterdam with a lot of respect and admiration. Hard work with a smile, and a friendly greeting for everyone.”
We’d like to thank the teams at Thialf, EY Amsterdam, Van der Valk Hotel Nijmegen-Lent, Hilton The Hague, Blooming Bergen, Rabobank Nederland and Hotel Okura Amsterdam for their commitment, openness, enthusiasm and patience on this day.
