De Nederlandsche Bank chooses EW Facility Services as cleaning partner
EW Facility Services is the new cleaning partner of De Nederlandsche Bank. This is the result of a careful European tender for cleaning, glass washing, pest control, dry-cleaning services, sanitary supplies and waste collection. A large part of the current cleaning staff will be transferred to EW Facility Services.
Relocation, rebuilding and new construction
De Nederlandsche Bank's housing plan for the coming years will provide the necessary dynamism in facility services within the various buildings. While the office at Westeinde in Amsterdam is undergoing renovation, the organisation is temporarily housed in an office building on Spaklerweg. Also in Haarlem, some of the employees moved to a temporary location this summer, to move into new premises in Zeist in 2024. Marije Wildenborg, Sales Manager of EW Facility Services: "The housing plans of De Nederlandsche Bank, but also the consequences of COVID-19 on office occupancy and way of working, made this a very special tender. We wrote a tender for a future situation, in the knowledge that the reality at the moment would be very different in terms of occupancy, hygiene measures and degree of pollution. Now that we are starting up, we notice that De Nederlandsche Bank is a fine partner in this. They think along with us and are agile when it comes to matters that in reality are realised in a slightly different way than we had in mind during the tender".
Integral service provision
Within De Nederlandsche Bank many services have been outsourced to various suppliers. They all have one common goal: the customer satisfaction of all employees. Within the new cleaning contract, part of the services are bundled. The Nederlandsche Bank was therefore expressly looking for a partner to connect with the other suppliers and strengthen the cooperation between these parties. EW Facility Services knows how to give substance to this in an appropriate way. Dennis Mirka, Rayon Manager EW Facility Services: "Our Object Leader Francis Struycken coordinates all services within our contract. Furthermore, she will actively work on strengthening the cooperation between the various facility service providers by means of various activities such as a chain scan, bi-weekly operational consultations and an annual supplier platform. In this way, we are able to act as a single facility team and work towards a unified image of our services. In addition, together with the other partners, we see opportunities for joint training courses, co-operating days and efforts in the areas of social return and sustainability in order to create even more links with each other".
Sustainability first
Sustainability also plays an important role within the cooperation. Bas Cornelissen, General Director of EW Facility Services: "In our services we strive to minimise the impact on the environment. One of the ways we do this is through the use of ozone technology. This is an environmentally friendly cleaning technique that replaces all daily cleaning agents and saves on chemicals and polluted water. There is also a strong focus on waste collection, which we have designed together with our partner Ecosmart". To ensure that waste is properly separated at the front, Raw Materials Coaches are added to the cleaning team. Dennis Mirka: "The Raw Materials Coaches are experts in the field of waste separation and will advise and correct the employees of De Nederlandsche Bank when separating waste on the shop floor. During the day, they will be present and take care of the proper collection of waste, its removal to the Milieustraat and the cleaning of the waste bins in the pantries. Also giving workshops and communicating instructions and especially the purpose of waste separation, are part of the tasks of the Raw Materials Coaches".
The first weeks of cooperation ensure a high level of trust between the two organisations. Bas Cornelissen: "We are extremely hospitable and look forward to an intensive collaboration with De Nederlandse Bank in order to provide an optimal service and the best (cleaning) experience for employees and guests of De Nederlandsche Bank".
