EW Facility Services is the new cleaning partner for Rotterdam The Hague Airport
From 1 April 2020 EW Facility Services will be the new cleaning partner of Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA). During the intensive process of the European tender both parties got to know each other very well. The new cooperation will last at least 4 years. The current cleaning staff at the airport will be transferred to EW Facility Services. In addition to guaranteeing quality, the vision of guest experience and sustainable deployment of resources and people convinced the airport to entrust the cleaning maintenance, glass washing and sanitary supplies to the facility services provider.
Innovation and sustainability important spearheads
Innovation and sustainability are important spearheads at Rotterdam The Hague Airport. But the regional airport also wants passengers to experience the best possible experience. "They should feel comfortable with us and we want to offer them a clean and fresh place. That gives travellers a pleasant feeling, whether they use us for a business trip or go to a holiday destination. We want our cleaning partner to understand and anticipate the dynamics of our airport. With our new partner EW Facility Services we have every confidence in this," says contract manager Patricia van den Bogerd of Rotterdam The Hague Airport.
Sustainability important role
Sustainability also played an important role in the tendering process. Marije Wildenborg, Sales Manager EW Facility Services: "In our service provision for Rotterdam The Hague Airport we aim to minimise the impact on the environment. One of the ways we do this is through the use of ozone technology. This is an environmentally friendly cleaning technique that replaces all daily cleaning agents and ensures savings on chemicals and polluted water. But we also save on packaging and transport. In addition, it also ensures a safer working environment for our employees. The environment-friendly activities that the organisation is going to deploy at the airport are not cast in concrete. "We will continue to look for sustainable solutions and innovations that we can deploy at RTHA.
Dynamics during cleaning at and around the airport
The planes that depart and arrive at Rotterdam The Hague Airport are an experience in itself, but the ultimate passenger experience goes beyond that. Deployment of Hospitality Hosts
To make passengers feel good at RTHA, Hospitality Hosts are added to the EW team. Marije Wildenborg: "Hospitality Hosts are experienced cleaners with a passion for hospitality who like to be in contact with passengers. During the day, they carry out perception-enhancing tasks at those places that have the most impact on the passenger experience. At peak times, they are even completely exempt from supporting passengers. Think of referring a business traveller to a quiet spot in the departure hall or alerting holidaymakers with a baby to the microwave in the baby room".
